Our Nursing & Medical Staff
Tara Direct to Patient's service is based on outstanding Nursing and Medical staff.
All our Nurses have a wealth of knowledge and skills that equip them to provide an unrivalled service. All our staff are competent in IV line placement, maintenance of IV access, are ACLS Trained, have advanced life cardiac support training and have completed specialised training in their relevant area of expertise. We have Nursing staff specialising in the following areas:
- General
- Respiratory
- Oncology
- Cardiology
- Renal
- Accident and Emergency
- Paediatrics
- Women's health
- Occupational health

Our Medical Staff
Tara Direct to Patient's Medical team is lead by the Group Medical Director Professor NG McElvaney
Gerry is the Professor of Medicine, Chairman of the Department of Medicine in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is a respiratory Consultant in Beaumont Hospital Dublin and is registered as a specialist in pulmonary medicine and General Internal Medicine. He worked for many years in centres of excellence in the United States and Canada before returning to Ireland in 1996. He is an acknowledged world authority on hereditary emphysema, chronic obstructive lung disease and cystic fibrosis.
Professor Mc Elvaney oversees a Staff of six doctors that provide on call support to our Nursing teams, this team includes one full time Medical officer based in our diagnostic centre in Dublin city centre and another based in our centre in Tallaght. This team is augmented by three Medical officers providing on call cover to our twenty three Nursing staff.
Our Medical officers are fully indemnified and insured to carry out all procedures within the Company's remit.
